Warehouse Co-ordinator

We are a passionate manufacturer that has been established for many years and we are now looking to recruit a warehouse co-ordinator.

The ideal person will be enthusiastic and someone who is wanting to build or continue a career working in a warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will also possess a passion and genuine commitment for working towards getting the job right the first time all of the time.

A driving and valid FLT licence that has been refreshed in the last three years is a distinct advantage when being considered for this role.

We have four core areas in which you need to be able to deliver

Goods in

High attention to detail is required so the correct goods and quantities are being booked in

The ability to work with and understand certificates of conformity when identifying raw materials that have been delivered for machining so the correct goods and quantities are booked in.

Keen computer skills when using the company’s erp system, prior experience of the Sage line 50 would be an advantage along with Microsoft office.

Understanding imported goods documentation and delivery notes in general.


Goods out

A fast paced work environment that requires good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.

The ability to work to deadlines at times what can be a pressured environment

Good computer skills and telephone skills required

The ability to think outside the box when circumstances dictate it

Working with our global freight forwarder so that goods can be sent all over the word when required.


Order picking

A good eye for detail is required along with the ability to follow a picking list methodically.

You will be set a target to pick to and will be expected to maintain a certain level.


Warehousing of good and products

Thinking creatively to manage existing space as effectively as possible

An understanding of stock rotation and perpetual stocking taking

Good housekeeping skills so warehouse is kept clean and a safe environment to work in

A can do attitude and a good team player

We are offering £9.30 to start with

Time & half over time rate

Porta celebrates Living Wage commitment

The Living Wage Foundation is pleased to announce that Porta, has today accredited as a Living Wage Employer.

Their Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at Porta, regardless of whether they are direct employees or third-party contracted staff; receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.75 in the UK or £10.20 in London. Both rates are significantly higher than the statutory minimum for over 25s of £7.50 per hour introduced in April 2017.

The real Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually. The Living Wage is calculated according to the real costs of living.
